FC Barcelona suffered a painful blow with the injury of its player, Pedri, who will be absent from participating in the upcoming matches for an indefinite period.
FC Barcelona announced, on August 24, through its official account on the “X” website, that Pedri (20 years old) suffers from an injury in the right quadriceps muscle, and that his recovery from the injury will determine his return to the team.
The Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo explained that the injury that Pedri suffered was the same as that of last February, and led to his absence from the stadiums for two months, which means that the player will be absent for several weeks at the very least.
The Spanish player had played the past two matches in the Spanish League, and scored one goal against Cadiz for the benefit of the second round.
Pedri is considered the dynamo of the Barça team through his great activity and smart moves inside the green rectangle.
The international break period, from the 3rd of next September until the 15th of the same month, may be useful in treating Pedri, and limiting the impact of his absence on the Catalan team.
According to the Transfermarkt website, Pedri’s market value is 100 million euros. He joined FC Barcelona on September 2, 2019, then renewed his contract on October 14, 2021, and ends on June 30, 2026.
He appeared with Barcelona in the Spanish League last season 26 matches, scored six goals, and made one assist.
He also played with Barca on all occasions 35 matches, scored seven goals, and made only one assist.
Pedri also played with the first Spanish national team since he joined it on March 8, 2021 until now, 18 matches, and participated with La Roja in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Pedri was able to win the “Cuba” award, which is awarded annually by “France Football” magazine, to the best young player under 21 years of age in the 2021 season.
In the same year, the Spanish player also won the “Golden Boy” award, which is awarded to a young player under 21 years old by sports journalists.
Noah Darwish may be the alternative
The German Noah Darwish, of Iraqi origin, may become one of the alternative options for the midfield position, according to what was reported by the Spanish newspaper Sport.

Darwish led the German national team to crown the European Under-17 Championship two months ago, when the “Manshafts” defeated France on penalties in the final, after they tied goallessly.
The player is one of the young talents selected within the vision and policy of Spanish coach Xavi Hernandez, FC Barcelona, who began relying on new faces.
Darwish is descended from an Iraqi mother and a French father, which gives him the right in the future to choose to represent France or Iraq, or to continue with the German national team.
