Real Madrid, headed by Florentino Perez, has settled on a replacement for Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti at the royal club for the upcoming period.
Real Madrid is ranked second in the Spanish League standings with 24 points, after winning seven matches, drawing three, and losing one.
The club is considering sacking Ancelotti due to the poor performances he has shown since the beginning of the season, along with his heavy loss in the Clasico, which ended 4-0.
The Catalan newspaper “Sport” reported that Perez wants to sign Xabi Alonso, the coach of Bayer Leverkusen, next year.
The newspaper added that the president of the royal club believes Ancelotti’s role with the team will end next summer, explaining that there is disappointment from the board of directors regarding how the season has been managed since the arrival of French star Kylian Mbappe.
The newspaper pointed out that Real Madrid officials realize the situation has gotten out of control and find it difficult to reverse it, especially after the significant defeat in El Clasico. This loss, and the manner in which it occurred, has created a rift that even titles may not be able to mend. Trust has been broken with Ancelotti.
