The Spanish newspaper Marca has raised doubts about the future of Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior with Real Madrid in the coming period, following the shock of losing the Ballon d’Or for the best player in the world for 2024 to Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
The newspaper, which is close to the Madrid club, stated that everything regarding Vinicius’s future is currently up in the air, describing the situation as a maze that is difficult to navigate, especially after losing the Ballon d’Or, which was very disappointing for both the player and the club’s management.
Vinicius is under contract with Florentino Perez’s management until June 2027, and the club protects him with a massive penalty clause worth one billion euros. However, the Real Madrid management does not oppose the idea of his departure, in line with the Merengue philosophy that supports the retention of those who wish to stay, but under the club’s conditions, of course.
The Brazilian winger is on the radar of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, but a Saudi offer, reportedly reaching one billion euros, could tip the scales in the coming period and take the player out of Europe entirely.
The Madrid newspaper explained that Vinicius spoke with one of the influential figures within Real Madrid, weighing both the economic and sporting aspects, which surprised the Merengue hierarchy behind the scenes.
The newspaper added that Vinicius Junior set a date for receiving offers to move to one of the Saudi League clubs, indicating that the player agreed to consider offers from the Saudi League after the end of the 2026 World Cup.
