Real Sociedad managed to beat Barcelona 1-0 in La Liga.

Barcelona’s points total froze at 33 after the defeat, keeping them in first place in the La Liga standings, while Sociedad occupies eighth place with 18 points.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional,” the German coach is very upset after the defeat to Real Sociedad, as he had been aiming to continue winning and extend their lead at the top of La Liga.

The newspaper added that Flick did not hide his anger at the referee, especially after he canceled Lewandowski’s legitimate goal, and demanded that Laporta intervene and put an end to this farce, which seems to have been planned to keep Barcelona away from the top. He held the referee responsible for the lost points.

The newspaper also mentioned that Flick scolded Barcelona star Jules Koundé for his disastrous performance in the match, as he failed to make any significant contribution both defensively and offensively in what was his worst game with Barcelona this season.
Flick did not stop there, but went on to criticize player Fermin López, who was considered one of the worst performers for Barça in the match, telling him: “Your performance is unconvincing, and you were unable to compensate for the absence of Lamine Yamal.”

In an unexpected development, Flick praised one Barcelona player and congratulated him on his performance, urging him to continue at this level. The player was goalkeeper Iñaki Peña.
Peña managed to stop several clear chances and prevent Sociedad from adding more goals, but the team let him down by failing to score any goals.

The newspaper concluded by reporting that Hansi Flick informed his assistant of a bold decision, having decided to exclude Fermin López and Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona’s starting lineup after the international break, opting to replace them with Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal.
