Barcelona is close to snatching one of Real Madrid’s targets in the upcoming summer transfer window, after the end of the current season in 2025.
Barcelona seeks to continue strengthening its squad by signing the best players in the world in order to return to the top of European and global football.
The name of Canadian full-back Alphonso Davies, a Bayern Munich player, has been linked with a possible move to Real Madrid, but it seems that he is leaning towards Barcelona.
Spanish reports had previously indicated that Real Madrid was waiting for Davies’ contract with Bayern Munich to expire in the summer in order to sign him on a free transfer, which delayed the completion of the deal that was supposed to be finalized in last summer’s transfer window.
According to a report published by the “Team Talk” website, Barcelona is now in a position to sign Davies on a free transfer next summer.
The report also noted that Alphonso Davies is open to the idea of reuniting with current Barcelona coach Hans Flick, and he would be very happy in this scenario.
The report further stated that Flick has asked Barcelona’s management to submit an offer for Davies, who will be a free agent next summer.
Barcelona’s task in this pursuit will not be easy, especially since the player is also attracting interest from Manchester United in addition to Real Madrid.
Bayern Munich’s management, for its part, wants to extend Davies’ contract, but the two parties have not yet reached an agreement. All current indications suggest that the era of the young full-back at Bayern Munich is coming to an end.
