Real Madrid are planning for next season with the possibility of strengthening their squad through signings in the winter transfer market, although this remains uncertain.
Carlo Ancelotti has been informed by Florentino Pérez that Alexander Arnold wants to join Real Madrid. However, a move in January seems almost impossible, as Liverpool do not intend to sell the player in the middle of the season. Therefore, the deal is likely to be completed after July 1, the date when Arnold will no longer be officially linked to the English club.
“He wants to come to Madrid” was the news that reached Florentino Pérez and Ancelotti directly. The Liverpool star is eager to join the Real Madrid project, aiming to start a new chapter in his career and compete for titles.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper “Defensa Central”, Arnold is seen as a valuable reinforcement for the right-back position, especially given the urgent need to find a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal. This need has become even more pressing after Carvajal’s serious injury, with uncertainty surrounding his level of performance upon his return.
However, Real Madrid are not ruling out the possibility of signing Arnold in January. The club is willing to pay up to €25 million to complete the deal, provided Liverpool can find a suitable replacement during the same window. If that does not happen, it will be almost impossible for Liverpool to part with one of their key players at such a sensitive time, especially in a season where they are competing for major titles, including the Champions League.
