Barcelona fell into the trap of defeat against Real Sociedad after a series of positive results for the Catalan team in recent matches, with the loss coming by a score of 1-0.
Despite the defeat, Barcelona still leads the La Liga table with 33 points from 13 matches, 6 points ahead of Real Madrid, who have one match in hand that could reduce the gap to just three points.
Legendary midfielder Andrés Iniesta did not forget to praise Hansi Flick’s work at Barcelona, particularly the team’s overall performance, and even predicted that Barcelona could still win La Liga this season despite the surprising loss to Sociedad.
In a surprising statement during a press conference, the former Barcelona star Iniesta expressed his admiration for one of the team’s young players but also revealed his confusion over Flick’s decision to exclude the player from his plans, despite the talent he possesses.
Iniesta urged German coach Hansi Flick to give more opportunities to Barcelona’s young star, Pablo Torre, saying: “I think he is a top-class player and will surpass De Jong and Fermin Lopez if given the right opportunity.”
Iniesta added: “The player has had excellent performances, the most recent of which was against Sevilla, where he scored two wonderful goals. But suddenly, he disappeared, and we didn’t see him play in any match, whether as a substitute or a starter. I don’t understand what’s going on in Flick’s mind regarding him.”
Andrés Iniesta concluded by asking Coach Hansi Flick to give the young player a chance in the upcoming matches, as he believes Pablo Torre will be one of the most important keys to Barcelona’s play this season.
