Barcelona surrendered to a dramatic draw with host Celta Vigo, finishing 2-2, on Saturday evening at Balaídos Stadium, in the 14th round of the Spanish League.
In light of the result, Barcelona’s points total rose to 34, keeping them at the top of the table, 5 points ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid, and 7 points ahead of rivals Real Madrid, with two matches remaining for Real, which could reduce the gap to just one point.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper *El Nacional*, German coach Hansi Flick is unprecedentedly angry after the shocking draw in the final minutes against Celta Vigo.
The newspaper added that the German coach strongly criticized Barcelona star Koundé for his disastrous performance, which helped Celta Vigo come back into the game after being two goals down.
Flick held the French defender and young midfielder Marc Casado responsible for the loss against Celta and threatened to exclude them from the starting lineup if the situation continued.
The newspaper highlighted that Flick has never been as harsh with a player as he was with Koundé and Casado, as he believes that this match will be crucial in the battle for the La Liga title.
Flick did not stop there; he also decided to put Gerard Martin up for sale after his poor performance, which led Flick to replace him immediately after the first half.
The newspaper also reported that Flick is considering making several changes to Barcelona’s lineup, the first being the exclusion of Koundé, who is going through one of his worst periods with the club. His mistakes contributed to the team’s defeat against Real Sociedad and the draw against Celta Vigo.
In an unexpected development, Laporta went straight to the locker room after the match ended and threatened Koundé with being put up for sale if his poor form continued through the rest of the season.
Laporta also requested that Flick give Pablo Torre more opportunities in the upcoming matches, especially given the Dutch player’s poor performance, which angered Laporta during Celta’s second goal due to his lack of pressure on the player who scored.
The newspaper concluded by stating that Laporta warned Flick against falling into a spiral of negative results, a situation that threatens to unexpectedly derail the team’s season.
