Bayern Munich have become one of the clubs interested in signing Fermín López, whose future at Barcelona is uncertain.
Last season was very important for the young player, especially in light of the injuries that his team suffered in his position. With the opportunities he was given, he was able to perform exceptionally, finishing second in the team’s scoring list, behind only Robert Lewandowski.
But with the arrival of Hansi Flick this season, things have changed. Despite his desire to keep the player and give him some minutes, Flick does not see Fermín López as a key player in his plan. It seems that his role this season will be secondary, as he will be limited to participating as a substitute or in some tactical adjustments.
Barcelona’s signing of Dani Olmo and the recovery of Pedri González, in addition to the emergence of Marc Casado, has narrowed the space for López in the starting lineup. Despite his recent contract renewal until 2029, which was considered a sign of his continuation at the club, rumors about his departure still persist. Strong clubs like Aston Villa and Manchester United have shown interest in him, and now Bayern Munich have joined the race with an interesting offer.
Meanwhile, according to information from the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional”, Manchester City manager Vincent Kompany is said to believe that Fermín López could fit perfectly into his squad and has proposed a swap deal with Bayern Munich that could interest Hansi Flick.
According to this deal, Bayern would offer the services of the team’s winger, Kingsley Coman, to Barcelona on a permanent basis. The French player, who does not seem to enjoy the confidence of the Belgian coach, could be a victim of the recent summer transfers, as the deal to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace overshadowed his place in the team.
It is worth noting that Coman was only in Barcelona’s plans for a short period, and he could now become part of a swap deal, where López could move to Bayern Munich if this deal goes through.
Hansi Flick appears open to swapping Fermín López for Kingsley Coman, with the German coach believing the team needs a new winger to bolster their attack, especially given the many alternatives to López’s current position. If the deal goes through, Barcelona and Bayern Munich could reach a mutually beneficial agreement in the upcoming winter market.
