Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has asked the club’s management to sign a player from the Spanish league to strengthen the team’s ranks this season.
Reports have indicated that Barcelona has begun its efforts to strengthen its squad in order to improve the team’s overall performance, starting with the defense line.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper “Marca,” which confirmed that Hansi Flick is satisfied with the team’s results, he still believes that the squad lacks depth in important positions, such as defense.
The newspaper explained that, for this reason, the German coach decided to urge his club to sign Andrei Ratiu, the Rayo Vallecano defender, who has been closely monitored by the club for several months.
Ratiu is now one of the standout defenders in the Spanish league, and Flick aims to sign him to provide support for Jules Kounde and give him some rest.
The newspaper added that this season, Ratiu has played 11 matches for Rayo Vallecano, scoring one goal and providing one assist. Moreover, he has been known for his ability to adapt to the role of a winger in certain situations, adding versatility that is highly valued by coach Hansi Flick.
It is worth noting that Ratiu has a release clause in his contract valued at 28 million euros, but Vallecano’s financial struggles may push them to sell him in the winter for a lower price.
