Las Palmas surprised host Barcelona by beating them 2-1 in the match that brought them together yesterday, Saturday, in the 15th round of the Spanish League.
The loss left Barcelona with 34 points at the top of the Spanish League table, 4 points ahead of their rival Real Madrid, with two matches remaining for the Madrid team. If Real Madrid wins those matches, it will overtake the Catalan team.
According to information received from the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional”, Brazilian player Rafinha, who has been performing at a historic level with Barcelona this season, is very angry about the loss to Las Palmas and the team’s struggles in three consecutive matches in La Liga.
Rafinha, considered one of the team’s standout players this season, expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance of goalkeeper Iñaki Peña and asked the German coach to exclude him from the team’s starting lineup.
Rafinha described Peña as a potential threat to Barcelona’s season, despite the high expectations following the team’s amazing start. However, the team quickly suffered a series of losses. Rafinha requested the urgent inclusion of goalkeeper Szczęsny, believing that Peña could lead to the loss of all titles this season.
The newspaper added that despite his great admiration for Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, Rafinha believes the player misses many easy opportunities that could change the course of matches.
The Brazilian winger turned against the team’s duo and demanded that coach Flick remove them from the starting lineup. Rafinha suggested replacing Lewandowski when he’s not performing well, as continuing at this level could result in wasted matches for the Catalan team.
