Real Madrid turns to its former player and coach, Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, in an effort to resolve the struggles of his compatriot Kylian Mbappé, who has not lived up to expectations in his first season at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Criticism of Mbappé has intensified following his disappointing performance at Anfield, where he missed a penalty in his team’s 2-0 loss in the fifth round of the Champions League.
The Catalan newspaper “Sport” reported that Real Madrid reached out to Zidane to help find a solution for Mbappé’s situation, as his performance has declined in his first season away from Paris Saint-Germain, where he had previously shone.
The newspaper explained that Zidane shares a close relationship with Mbappé, having been the first to recommend his move to Real Madrid. The club believes that a message from Zidane could have a significant impact on the French forward.
Real Madrid has asked Zidane to speak with Mbappé and guide him in the right direction, aware that Zizou faced similar challenges in his first season at the club before becoming one of its legends.
