German coach Hansi Flick is looking to offload a number of Barcelona first-team players, particularly those who have no role this season.

According to information from the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional”, Flick has made a decisive decision regarding the future of certain Barcelona players, as he does not include Ansu Fati and Eric Garcia in his plans. The club is currently working to find a way out for them in the winter transfer market, as neither player is expected to get enough playing time this season. The goal is to free up space within the team and reduce the wage bill, which will help facilitate new signings.

Ansu Fati’s situation is the most delicate. The young player, once considered one of the most promising talents in world football, has been unable to fully recover from the recurring injuries that have plagued his career in recent years. While Fati still shows occasional flashes of brilliance, his lack of continuity and ongoing physical problems have hindered his development. Flick does not see him as a key part of the squad moving forward.

Additionally, Fati’s high salary makes it difficult to find a destination for him, as many clubs are hesitant to sign him due to his injury history and expensive contract. Barcelona is exploring solutions such as a loan with an option to buy, but the situation remains complicated.

On the other hand, the future of Eric Garcia appears clearer. The player, who has not had many opportunities this season, has the chance to move to Girona, where he played on loan last season. Garcia made a good impression with the Catalan team, and the club is expected to welcome him back, as he would get more playing minutes in a team competing at the top of the league.

For Flick, the defense is well-covered by players such as Ronald Araujo, Inigo Martinez, and the young Coparsi, who is considered one of the standout discoveries of the season. Therefore, Flick sees no need to retain players like Eric Garcia, who may not have a significant impact on the team and could be more useful elsewhere.

Flick was clear in his statements: if players do not play, it is better for them to leave. Now, it is up to Deco to find suitable destinations for these players that benefit all parties involved. The ultimate goal is to lighten the squad and continue building a competitive team.
