Since his injury, he has been completely absent from the matches and has not been given playing minutes, especially with the recovery of Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, and Fermin Lopez, leaving him without a place in midfield. With the return of Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen, his position in central defense is also uncertain. The player is expected to leave for around 10 million euros, and several clubs have shown interest in him.
