Barcelona star Lamine Yamal is raising significant concerns within the Catalan club following his latest injury.
Last Sunday, Lamine Yamal suffered an injury to the inner ligament of his right ankle during Barcelona’s 0-1 loss to Leganés.
According to the medical report issued by Barcelona, the 17-year-old is expected to be sidelined for a period ranging from 3 to 4 weeks.
This is the second injury Yamal has suffered to his right ankle this season, after he was injured in the same area last November, which forced him to miss 3 matches for Barcelona.
In a report published by the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, it was noted that Lamine Yamal’s setback brings to mind the fate of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
The Dutch midfielder has suffered from various ankle injuries over the past year, preventing him from playing at his best, as it has impacted him both athletically and mentally.
The newspaper added that everyone inside Barcelona is deeply concerned about the health condition of Spanish star Lamine Yamal, the winger for the first football team of the Catalan club.
Journalist José Álvarez stated during his appearance on the “El Chiringuito” program: “There is concern in Barcelona regarding Lamine’s situation.”
The journalist continued: “The player is suffering from a syndromic injury. This reminds us of the same injury that Frenkie de Jong has been dealing with.”
He further emphasized that the major issue is that the models previously presented to Barcelona’s management, such as Ansu Fati and Gavi, were “burned,” resulting in a series of injuries one after the other. He asked, “Did the management learn a lesson? No…! Instead, they have now burned Lamine Yamal as well.”
