Barcelona intends to get rid of one of the first-team players at the Catalan club in order to register Dani Olmo next January.
Barcelona is racing against time to complete the registration process for Dani Olmo before the end of this month, otherwise, the player will become a free agent without a team, but this is unlikely to happen.
Press reports from the Catalan newspaper “Sport” indicated that Barcelona has decided to part ways with Eric Garcia, the Catalan team’s defender, in the upcoming winter transfer market.
The newspaper confirmed that the Spanish club Barcelona is working on arranging the sale of defender Eric Garcia for a sum of up to 25 million euros, in an attempt to secure the necessary resources to register the team’s new star, Dani Olmo, next January.
The Spanish newspaper also indicated that many big clubs have expressed interest in acquiring Garcia’s services, most notably Chelsea and Newcastle United.
The newspaper concluded that the final decision on selling Garcia is expected to be one of the factors that will help Barcelona strengthen its plans for the next season, especially in light of the difficult financial situation facing the club.
