The results of the Catalan team in recent times have sounded the alarm bell in Catalonia, and the German coach is seeking to resolve the predicament that threatens the team’s entire season by strengthening Barcelona’s ranks with some key players next January.
The technical director of Barcelona, Hansi Flick, has asked the club’s management, headed by Joan Laporta, to secure a significant signing in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Flick believes, after the disappointing results in the last few matches of La Liga, that the team needs standout signings next January.
According to journalist Tony Juanmartí, who revealed through the Catalan newspaper “Sport”, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has clearly defined his priorities for strengthening the squad in the winter transfer window.
The journalist stated that these priorities include signing a defensive midfielder with strong physical attributes, to enhance the team’s tactical diversity and provide Casado with the opportunity to rest, avoiding fatigue due to the intensity of the matches.
The journalist reported that one of Flick’s preferred options is to sign Bayern Munich player Leon Goretzka. However, financial circumstances make the possibility of strengthening the Catalan team in January nearly impossible, meaning the German coach may have to wait until the summer of 2025.
