Real Madrid is looking to make a move in the transfer market by targeting Manchester City in the near future, as the club seeks to strengthen its squad.
The Royal Club has not let go of the idea of signing Norwegian forward Erling Haaland, despite the recent quietude of reports linking him to the Merengue after the acquisition of French star Kylian Mbappé.
According to Spanish radio station “Cadena Ser,” Real Madrid still harbors ambitions of signing Haaland and could make an offer for him next summer. This move may be influenced by the current crisis at City, including the accusations facing the club, which could potentially lead to a two-season Champions League ban, a penalty that might be enforced if the Sky Blues are ruled against.
The radio station explained that Haaland would be open to leaving Manchester City due to his reluctance to spend two years away from the Champions League. Real Madrid could seize this opportunity to sign him by paying the release clause without needing to negotiate with the English club.
Haaland’s potential arrival at Real Madrid could lead to the departure of Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes, who has already been linked with a move away from the club following Mbappé’s signing.
