Rumors surrounding the upcoming summer transfer window have already begun to surface. Alongside high-profile names like Alexander-Arnold and Alphonso Davies, Florentino Perez is continuing to explore additional options to further strengthen the team.

While Real Madrid is focused on the second half of the current season, the club has already begun planning for the next. Perez has outlined several key targets to bolster Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
Alexander-Arnold and Alphonso Davies have been the primary targets in recent discussions, but Real Madrid is also prioritizing midfield reinforcements. A significant portion of their budget is expected to be allocated towards securing a new midfielder next summer.

According to “Defensa Central”, Real Madrid’s immediate need is for a player similar to Toni Kroos, a playmaker in the center of the park, rather than someone reliant on physicality. This shift in focus suggests that much of the club’s financial attention will be directed at strengthening the midfield.

Two of the top candidates for this role are Martin Zubimendi and Florian Wirtz, both of whom have been subjects of significant speculation in recent weeks. While Real Madrid is not ruling out a move for either player, Zubimendi is considered the more affordable option, while Wirtz is expected to cost over €100 million.

Although the situation is still open, Real Madrid has already made the strategic decision to prioritize the signing of a midfielder for next season. Zubimendi and Wirtz lead the list of preferred options, but they are not the only names under consideration.
The club will continue searching for players to fill the gap left by Toni Kroos’ eventual departure. With the signings of Arnold and Davies nearing completion, Perez is set to shift his focus toward securing a playmaker to further strengthen the squad.

Real Madrid is already laying the groundwork for midfield reinforcements, with a large portion of the summer transfer budget earmarked for this area. Zubimendi and Wirtz are considered prime targets, as they have been closely monitored by the club for an extended period. After addressing the need for wingers, the next step will be to secure a distinguished midfielder to elevate the team’s capabilities.
