According to information from the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional”, the Barcelona duo has made an intriguing request after qualifying against Athletic Bilbao and ahead of the likely final against Real Madrid.
The newspaper reported that Lamine Yamal and Gavi do not want Polish striker Robert Lewandowski to start in Barcelona’s lineup for the Spanish Super Cup final due to his underwhelming performances.
The report continued by stating that the two Catalan players believe Barcelona’s chances of winning the title would be significantly reduced if coach Flick starts Lewandowski in the match.
The newspaper further noted that some players in the Barcelona dressing room share this opinion, as Lewandowski has become a burden to the team. He is no longer the player who scores from half-chances but instead misses the easiest opportunities in front of goal, which could prove costly against Real Madrid.
