Barcelona managed to win the Spanish Super Cup after a crushing 5-2 victory over their traditional rivals, Real Madrid.
With this victory, Barcelona claimed their 15th Spanish Super Cup in history, compared to 13 for Real Madrid.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional”, coach Hansi Flick expressed his great admiration for the performance of Barcelona’s young star Lamine Yamal, who impressed everyone with his outstanding performance in El Clásico.
Flick, who was particularly struck by Yamal’s creativity, asked all Barcelona players and fans to applaud him, saying: “In my opinion, you are the best in the world by far.”
At the same time, Flick did not fail to acknowledge an unsung hero who played a crucial role in securing the team’s victory: midfielder Marc Casado. After goalkeeper Szczęsny was sent off, Casado took on the responsibility of the entire match, and Flick described him, saying: “It’s unbelievable, boy. The fans are exhausted in the stands, and you’re not tired yet! You’re a monster.”
Casado played a pivotal role in covering the void left by Szczęsny and delivered an exceptional performance in the midfield.
Despite Barcelona’s commanding victory, Flick expressed his displeasure with goalkeeper Szczęsny’s behavior, which resulted in his red card after an unjustified act that nearly destabilized the team. Flick said after the match, “He horrified me with what he did.”
In a surprising turn of events, Barcelona president Joan Laporta went down to the changing room to celebrate with the team. He congratulated Marc Casado, saying, “This is the character we need at Barcelona, congratulations.”
In front of everyone, Laporta also praised Lamine Yamal, telling him, “International organizations will request your arrest for the insult you caused to the Real Madrid players,” referring to Yamal’s brilliant performance against Real Madrid, which left the royal team’s players in a state of confusion and terror.
It was a historic night for Barcelona, not only for their great victory over Real Madrid but also for the emergence of several young players who proved they hold the future in their hands.
