Real Madrid lost the Spanish Super Cup final to Barcelona in a match that the team is eager to move past quickly.

What transpired in Jeddah put nearly the entire team under the spotlight, as the overall performance was very disappointing, a point that Carlo Ancelotti highlighted in the post-match press conference.
As time passes with shifting solutions and life taking multiple turns, the future of many players becomes harder to predict, which may apply to Lucas Vazquez, who could be in his final months as a Real Madrid player.

However, beyond the coach’s reluctance to assign blame publicly, the performances of Aurelien Tchouameni and Lucas Vazquez are under more scrutiny than ever. For Vazquez, his situation appears more complicated, as his contract is set to expire next June.

Before the Spanish Super Cup began, Vazquez said: “I am proud to wear the captain’s armband at Real Madrid. This is what most people dream of. Being a captain has its good and bad moments, but it is a huge responsibility. It is too early to know what will happen. I am happy and pleased. We will see what happens next time.”

Regarding his future, journalist Joaquín Maroto, who is well-acquainted with Florentino Pérez, revealed that the club has no intention of renewing the Spanish right-back’s contract.

Maroto stated via the “X” platform: “Lucas can no longer play as a starter at Real Madrid. Either Valverde will play in that position, or the club will sign a right-back in January, and Vazquez will return to the wing. Thanks to Lucas and Tchouameni for their services, no need to renew their contracts.”

So far, neither Florentino Pérez nor José Ángel Sánchez has made a definitive decision regarding the player. However, with the potential signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold, the situation appears to be nearing a resolution.
