The famous Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, specializing in player transfer news, revealed the final decision of Uruguayan Ronald Araujo, Barcelona defender, regarding his continuation or departure from Barça.
Araujo’s name had been linked with leaving Barcelona this month, amid strong interest from Juventus in signing him.
Initially, Ronald Araujo’s decision seemed more inclined toward leaving Barcelona, but the situation has changed in recent hours.
The journalist explained that Barcelona is now convinced that Ronald Araujo will stay at the club and will not leave in January.
Romano added that a new round of talks took place between the player’s representatives and Deco on Tuesday, and Barça received the green light from the player himself to remain at the club, despite Juventus’ efforts.
Araujo showcased a distinguished performance after coming on as a substitute in the Super Clasico against Real Madrid and confirmed this with a brilliant match against Real Betis in the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey.
German coach Hansi Flick is considering establishing the Uruguayan player in the Catalan team’s starting lineup, even after Inigo Martinez returns from injury.
