Barcelona drew 1-1 with Getafe in La Liga. After this draw, Barcelona’s points increased to 39, placing them in third place in the Spanish league standings, while Getafe remains in sixteenth place with 20 points.
Barcelona will face Valencia in the next round at the “Los Compaños” Stadium on January 26, while Getafe will face Sociedad on the same day.
Barcelona continues its disappointing run in La Liga, having won only one of their last eight matches. This is a disastrous statistic that makes it nearly impossible for the team to compete for the title with such a performance.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional,” after the disappointing draw against Getafe, midfielder Pedri erupted with anger following the match, directing harsh criticism at the team’s duo, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.
Pedri held the duo responsible for wasting vital points, saying, “At this level, we will not be able to compete for La Liga, and the same scenario is repeating itself from last season. No one is learning the lesson.”
Despite Barcelona having numerous chances to seal the game, Lewandowski and Raphinha squandered several easy opportunities in front of Getafe’s goal.
With the team desperately needing those points, the duo contributed to the loss of a win that was within reach, leaving Barcelona with only one point, which makes their position in the La Liga race even more difficult.
In the end, the duo lost two valuable points, underscoring the importance of the players learning from their mistakes and taking responsibility for the results in the upcoming matches.
