Manchester United are reportedly looking to make a huge move in the current transfer window, with manager Ruben Amorim keen to bolster his squad with a Barcelona star.
According to reports from the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional”, Amorim is eager to sign a player from the Catalan club in exchange for allowing Marcus Rashford to join Barcelona.
Amorim sees Christensen, the Danish centre-back who has recently overcome his long-term physical issues, as the ideal choice to lead United’s defence.
His Premier League experience, gained during his time at Chelsea, and his defensive strength make Christensen a prime target for the Red Devils, who are looking to strengthen their defence after a season full of ups and downs.
As for Barcelona, the possibility of Christensen leaving is not entirely out of the question. With the club needing to free up wages to sign new players in the summer, Barca coach Hansi Flick may be willing to give the green light to the deal, especially to facilitate the signing of Rashford.
Talks between the two clubs are expected to continue in the coming days, with both sides looking to complete the deal before the summer transfer window opens. If the deal does eventually go through, Barcelona will lose a key player in their defence, but they will gain a significant advantage in signing a striker with the experience and capabilities of England’s Marcus Rashford.
