English star Marcus Rashford, the Aston Villa player on loan from Manchester United, was on Barcelona’s list of potential winter transfer targets.

Spanish reports revealed that Barcelona’s management was initially enthusiastic about the idea of signing Rashford on loan, but the move ultimately did not materialize, and the player ended up moving to Aston Villa.
According to a report published by “Football Spain”, the idea of signing Rashford was well-received by the team’s coach, Hansi Flick, and sporting director, Deco. However, not everyone was in favor of the move.

The report, citing the Catalan newspaper “Sport”, stated that several first-team players expressed their dissatisfaction with the decision to bring Rashford in during the winter transfer window. Among those opposing the idea were players like Pedri, Gavi, and Robert Lewandowski.
The team’s stars believed it was unwise to sign a player like Rashford for a large financial value for only six months, especially since Barcelona had recently returned to the 1:1 wage rule.

In the end, Barcelona decided to close the door on the possibility of signing Rashford, who is currently playing with Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season.
