The German star Jonathan Tah, a player for Bayer Leverkusen, confirmed his desire to represent Barcelona despite Bayern Munich’s interest in his services.
Tah is performing very well in the German league and has attracted the attention of a number of major European clubs, most notably Barcelona.
According to a report published by the Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Tah will be Barcelona’s first signing in the summer of 2025.
The report indicated that Tah has already made up his mind and is very keen to represent Barcelona.
Tah’s contract with Leverkusen expires at the end of the current season, and he will be a free agent, able to sign with any club at no cost, which aligns perfectly with Barcelona’s current economic situation.
Tah’s decision came despite already having attractive financial offers from several clubs, including Bayern Munich.
Tah will play for Barcelona under the leadership of his former coach in the German national team, Hansi Flick, and their new experience together will be an extension of their previous one.
Tah is 29 years old and plays as a central defender. He joined his current club from Hamburg in 2015. Tah has played 386 matches for Leverkusen in all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing 13 assists.
