Pedri and Gavi are completely stunned after the exclusion of a Barcelona star, one of the team’s standout players this season, without any prior warning

Barcelona continue their pursuit of the Spanish league title under coach Hansi Flick, but tensions are rising in the dressing room.

According to information from the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional,” in recent weeks, some of the German coach’s decisions regarding certain players have raised questions, as Pedri and Gavi expressed their surprise at the decline in Marc Casado’s role within the squad.

Casado started the season as a key player in the team’s midfield, impressing everyone with his excellent performance. However, with Frenkie de Jong’s return from injury, Casado moved from the starting lineup to a noticeable reduction in playing time, which angered some players.

Pedri and Gavi defended their teammate, expressing concern about Casado’s lack of minutes. They explained that they believe the young player has performed well and deserves to continue playing an important role in the team. While they acknowledge De Jong’s high level, they believe that Casado should not disappear completely from the squad.

Casado’s decline in role has also raised questions among fans, who had seen him as one of the discoveries of the season. The youngster had been a key player for the team in the first part of the season, but now his presence has significantly diminished.

Despite the criticism, Flick has stuck to his decision, preferring to rely on De Jong at the moment due to his experience. While he admires Casado, the German coach believes the Dutchman offers more guarantees for the team at this stage.

Regarding any potential changes to his plans, Casado is likely to continue playing a secondary role if the team’s results continue to improve. However, if performances decline significantly, Flick may reconsider his decisions.
