A star of Barcelona and one of the team’s key players has told his close teammates in the locker room that his departure from Barcelona is inevitable

Barcelona currently leads the Spanish league “La Liga” with 51 points, surpassing their arch-rivals Real Madrid on goal difference, who sit in second place. The Barcelona management is working to strengthen the team during the upcoming summer transfer window to continue competing for titles, while also finalizing the departures of certain players.

According to information from the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional,” although his future with Barcelona seemed settled after renewing his contract earlier, the situation has unexpectedly changed for Ronald Araujo. The player was very close to moving to Juventus in January, but unforeseen developments have made his future at Barcelona more uncertain. Given the current circumstances, it has become increasingly likely that Araujo will leave the team, with growing doubts about his future at “Camp Nou,” especially with the fierce competition in the center-back position.

Just a few weeks ago, it seemed that Ronald Araujo had settled his future with Barcelona after renewing his contract, but those decisions were made under unexpected circumstances. In January, Araujo was very close to moving to Juventus, with the deal nearly finalized. However, everything changed after Inigo Martinez’s injury in the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid, which forced coach Hans-Dieter Flick to rely on Araujo.

As a result, negotiations for his transfer to Juventus were halted, and Araujo, alongside Pau Cubarsi, became the only available options. Expectations pointed to a move to the team managed by Thiago Motta next summer, but the extraordinary performances of the Uruguayan center-back led Barcelona to reconsider their plans, offering to extend his contract, which was supposed to expire in 2026.

Despite the positive changes Araujo saw at the beginning of the year, things did not remain the same. After several unsatisfactory performances, the Uruguayan defender began to lose his starting spot in the lineup, which raised doubts about his future at Barcelona. Currently, it seems that Flick prefers to rely on Inigo Martinez in the starting lineup alongside Pau Cubarsi, while Eric Garcia has also moved ahead of Araujo.

As a result of these changes, Araujo has become a player who might be sold again next summer. Barcelona’s management, led by Laporta and Deco, may consider offers for him, and the club feels confident that they can receive a good financial return, potentially up to 80 million euros.

According to what Araujo has told his close friends, it seems that the player is ready to leave Barcelona if he doesn’t receive assurances about a bigger and more important role in the team. A move to Juventus seems to be his most likely option, alongside interest from major clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich. For this reason, Araujo has already informed his closest friends that it is likely he will leave Barcelona this year.
