Barcelona coach Hansi Flick is considering benching one of the Catalan team’s players against Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-final.
The Catalan team is preparing for a crucial match against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final, and the German coach aims to secure qualification without waiting for the return leg.
Press reports have indicated that Flick is considering fielding Spaniard Ferran Torres against Atletico Madrid instead of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, following the wishes of Barcelona duo Raphinha and Pedri.
According to the Spanish newspaper “AS”, Flick intends to keep Raphinha and Lamine Yamal in the starting lineup while planning to rest Lewandowski, who did not perform at his best against Las Palmas, and give Torres a starting opportunity after he recently shone and scored a goal in the last match.
The Spanish player has participated in twenty-seven matches with Barcelona this season, managing to score 11 goals and provide 3 assists.
Barcelona will host Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals today, Tuesday, at Montjuic Stadium.
