Barcelona is planning to make significant changes in the upcoming summer transfer window in order to continue building an invincible team in the coming years, despite the ongoing financial crisis the Catalan club is facing.
In light of this, it appears that Barcelona will sacrifice two players from the first team in order to secure a free transfer deal in the upcoming summer window.
According to reports from the Catalan newspaper ‘‘Sport‘‘, Jonathan Tah, whose contract with Bayer Leverkusen expires in the summer of 2025, is a major target for the Catalan club. This move becomes more likely, especially with the potential departures of Andreas Christensen and Eric Garcia at the end of the season.
The report also mentioned that Barcelona is the preferred destination for Tah, which increases the club’s chances of signing him for free.
The newspaper further explained that Barcelona’s head coach, Hansi Flick, supports the idea of adding Tah to the team, but the deal will only go through if there is space in the defense.
Finally, the report confirmed that Barcelona will make a final decision regarding Tah by the end of the season, with concerns that other clubs may enter the race or that Leverkusen could succeed in renewing the player’s contract.
