In a major shock, Barcelona announced that its stars, Marc Casado and Iñigo Martinez, suffered injuries following the epic match against Atlético Madrid.

Barcelona emerged from the Atlético Madrid match with some injuries, with both Marc Casado and Iñigo Martinez missing from the Spain squad for the UEFA Nations League matches. They may also not feature in the Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Borussia Dortmund or the Copa del Rey semifinal second leg against Atlético Madrid.

A statement from Barcelona indicated that tests conducted this morning on Marc Casado confirmed a ligament injury in his right knee, and he will undergo further tests to determine the duration of the injury.

Tests conducted on Iñigo Martinez confirmed that he has suffered inflammation of the lateral meniscus in his right knee, and he will receive treatment in Barcelona under the supervision of the medical staff.

Marca newspaper reported that Iñigo Martínez will return to the team quickly, but Marc Casado may be out for an extended period, possibly up to two months, meaning the young star’s season with Barça could be over.
