Brazilian star Raphinha Diaz revealed the player he considers the most important in Barcelona’s squad, praising his prominent role and significant impact on the team’s performance.
Barcelona is preparing to face Atletico Madrid next Wednesday, April 2, in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final.
The match will be played at the Riyadh Metropolitano Stadium, where the exciting first leg ended in a 4-4 draw.
While many consider him the most important player in Barcelona, Brazilian star Raphinha surprised everyone with an unexpected statement, confirming that young Spaniard Pedri is the most important player on the team.
Raphinha told the press: “Pedri doesn’t have many assists, and he doesn’t have a large number of goals, but for me, he is the most important player on our team. I believe that all the balls pass through him, and they should pass through him. If he’s not on the pitch, something is missing.”
The Brazilian winger added: “I think Pedri is the heart of the team. He’s one of the best players in the world, and I say this with confidence.”
Raphinha also expressed his displeasure with the excessive focus on statistics in modern football, saying: “It is unfortunate that football has become more dependent on numbers than necessary, and ignores the essence of the game and the importance of players on the field.”
