Barcelona is preparing for a tough clash tonight as they host Real Betis in La Liga’s 31st round. Coach Hansi Flick’s team aims for victory to maintain their lead at the top of the table before their upcoming Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.

Barcelona currently leads the La Liga standings with 66 points, three points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid and seven points clear of Atlético Madrid.

According to information from the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional,” a major surprise recently emerged regarding an offer from one of Bayern Munich’s legends to join Barcelona, taking advantage of the opportunity to move on a free transfer. This concerns Thomas Müller, who may end his career with Bayern Munich, the club he has been with throughout his career, to start a new challenge before his retirement. Müller will become a free agent on June 30.

Unlike some of his teammates, such as Alphonso Davies and Joshua Kimmich, Müller has not received any offer to extend his contract, leading him to believe that Bayern’s management has decided to let him leave, perhaps to free up space in the locker room and rid themselves of his high salary. Vincent Kompany is considered the key person behind this, as Müller has not been given much playing time this season.

Müller is a true icon in the German Bundesliga and at Bayern Munich, holding the record for most appearances in the club’s history, surpassing great names such as Sepp Maier, Oliver Kahn, Gerd Müller, Franz Beckenbauer, Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm, and Bastian Schweinsteiger. However, he still refuses to retire, and it seems he has decided to begin negotiations with other clubs, including Barcelona, in hopes of working with Hansi Flick once again.

Hansi Flick is the coach who helped Müller regain his best form, and Müller seems eager to try his luck in Spain’s La Liga at Camp Nou.

Joan Laporta and Deco are not entirely convinced about signing Müller, despite his previous global stardom. It is clear that his level of performance has declined recently. On the other hand, Hansi Flick would welcome the arrival of a player who can provide more attacking options, especially given his vast experience and reputation in the world of football.
