Barcelona is preparing for a decisive match in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League when they host Borussia Dortmund, the “yellow submarine,” tonight at the Montjuïc Stadium in Catalonia. Coach Hansi Flick’s side hopes to achieve a positive result that will aid Barcelona in the return leg at the difficult Signal Iduna Park, home of Borussia Dortmund.

In another development, according to information from the Spanish newspaper ‘‘El Nacional‘‘, Paris Saint-Germain’s strong interest in signing Gavi has been one of the most discussed topics over the past week. Although the player has not yet regained his starting spot at Barcelona, Hansi Flick has shown great confidence in his abilities and affirmed his excellent relationship with him, as seen in the recent La Liga match against Real Betis.

Gavi was one of the new additions to the lineup, scoring a goal that he celebrated by embracing Flick. However, it is clear that the Spanish international is not entirely satisfied with his current situation at Camp Nou, as he has been relegated to the bench due to the outstanding performances of his midfield teammates, such as Frenkie de Jong, Pedri González, Dani Olmo, Fermín López, and Marc Casadó, before suffering an injury.

For the player who won the Kopa Trophy and the Golden Boy Award in 2022, it has been difficult for him to accept that he is no longer a key player in the team as he was during the era of Xavi Hernández, where he was a fundamental part of the team’s development. Since suffering a serious knee injury, he has not been the same and has had to settle for coming off the bench or playing in less important matches.

Luis Enrique has taken advantage of this situation to try to convince Gavi to join Paris Saint-Germain, especially given the good relationship between them, as Enrique gave Gavi his first cap for the Spanish national team when he was just 18 years old. Additionally, both Gavi and Enrique share the same agent, Iván de la Peña, which could facilitate negotiations for a move to Parc des Princes, similar to the transfer of Ousmane Dembélé, one of Gavi’s close friends in the Barcelona dressing room.

These rumors have not gone unnoticed, as some Barcelona stars, such as Pedri González, have intervened, urging Gavi to stay at the club. Pedri, who shares a close relationship with Gavi, is convinced that his teammate will eventually return to his best form. He reassured him that all he needs to do is keep working hard and be a little patient.
