After the legendary performance he delivered against Borussia Dortmund, Hansi Flick takes an unexpected step and personally asks the Barcelona star to stay and not leave.

Hans-Dieter Flick wanted to speak directly with a Barcelona player after learning of his dissatisfaction with his current situation and his growing thoughts about his future options.

According to information from the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional,” Fermín López is seeking greater continuity and a more influential role but has had to settle for a secondary role, often coming on as a substitute or when necessary, as happened in recent weeks.

In fact, Dani Olmo has been the preferred option whenever available, forming the midfield trio alongside Pedri González and Frenkie de Jong, which has kept Fermín López on the bench. Despite this, every time he has had the chance, he has proven that he is ready to start. This was evident again in the match against Borussia Dortmund, where he was one of the standout new additions and delivered an impressive performance.

López constantly posed a threat and provided an assist to Robert Lewandowski, which helped seal the victory and virtually secured qualification to the UEFA Champions League semifinals. The Spanish international is also praised for his incredible work ethic and willingness to sacrifice, qualities highly valued at Camp Nou. Flick is the first to express his complete satisfaction with his player.

Despite the fierce competition in his position, the German coach does not wish to discuss the possibility of losing Fermín. He trusts his abilities and considers him a crucial player for Barcelona, even if he is not a regular starter, unlike players like Ferran Torres or Gavi. Flick met with López and told him that he was completely satisfied with his commitment and performance.

For this reason, Flick assured Fermín that he is counting on him for the upcoming season and hopes he will stay with the team. He also made it clear that he does not want to entertain any offers that may come his way.

Fermín is attracting interest from several top European clubs, including Liverpool, Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Atlético Madrid, who are preparing potential offers to present to Joan Laporta and Deco.

For his part, Flick hopes that López will remain at Camp Nou and honor the contract he recently signed with the club.
