Spanish international Lamine Yamal, the rising star of FC Barcelona, made headlines by surpassing Jude Bellingham after scoring in Barcelona’s dominant 4-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.

Yamal netted the fourth goal for the Catalan giants, helping his team secure a strong advantage in the race to reach the Champions League semifinals.

According to the official website of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), Lamine Yamal is now the second-youngest player ever to score in a Champions League quarterfinal.

Yamal scored his goal at the age of 17 years and 270 days, officially overtaking Bellingham in the record books.

The youngest player to ever score in the Champions League quarterfinals remains Bojan Krkić, who found the net for Barcelona against Schalke on April 1, 2008, at just 17 years and 217 days old.
