Barcelona is preparing for a crucial La Liga match as it visits Real Mallorca in the 33rd round of the competition. The German coach hopes to continue his winning streak and consolidate his position at the top of the table.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper ‘‘El Nacional‘‘, Dean Huijsen has emerged as one of the most prominent defensive talents at present, following his impressive performances with Bournemouth in the Premier League.
In a short span of time, Huijsen has transformed from a relatively unknown player into one of the most promising defenders on the global stage. Despite being only 19 years old, he has earned the trust of Andoni Iraola and become an indispensable figure in a Bournemouth side that has surprised many this season in its pursuit of European qualification.
The former Málaga, Juventus, and Roma defender has played a pivotal role in his team’s outstanding performances, thanks to his defensive solidity and his ability to contribute offensively scoring several goals through his physical strength and long-range shooting ability. A move to a bigger club appears inevitable, as Bournemouth are unlikely to retain him much longer.
Despite interest from Joan Laporta and Deco in bringing him back to Barcelona given his current form and future potential coach Hansi Flick has firmly rejected the idea of signing him, believing that reinforcements in that position are unnecessary due to the presence of players such as Cubarsí, Ronald Araújo, Eric García, Iñigo Martínez, and Andreas Christensen.
Should the Catalan club be compelled to sign a new center-back, Flick has made it clear that his preferred choice is Jonathan Tah, the experienced German defender who is expected to arrive on a free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.
With Barcelona no longer an option, Huijsen has reportedly offered himself to Real Madrid, and Florentino Pérez appears willing to meet Bournemouth’s €50 million asking price for the young defender.
