With this result, Barcelona now sits on 76 points a full seven ahead of Real Madrid pending the latter’s away match against Getafe later today.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper ‘‘El Nacional‘‘, despite Barcelona’s valuable victory over Real Mallorca, the atmosphere in the dressing room after the match was far from calm. Star midfielder Pedri reportedly sparked an internal crisis after expressing frustration over the performance of teammates Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres, citing what he viewed as “excessive carelessness” and their failure to convert several clear-cut chances that could have secured a more decisive win.
Sources close to the team revealed that Pedri was visibly agitated following the final whistle, sharply criticizing the duo. He warned that such indifference could prove costly in upcoming fixtures particularly with decisive clashes looming, including the Copa del Rey final and the Champions League match against Inter Milan.
The Spanish international didn’t stop at rebuking his teammates; he also urged coach Hansi Flick to take a firmer stance against this type of complacency, stressing that discipline and focus on the pitch are essential if the team is to salvage its season and compete for major titles.
