Real Madrid’s misfortunes continue after their 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final, which ended in extra time.

The Royal Club lost their second final against Barcelona this season, following the Supercopa final, and suffered their third El Clásico defeat of the season. All that remains is to fight for their remaining chances in La Liga, which Barcelona currently leads by four points.

Real Madrid is preparing to face Celta Vigo in the next round of La Liga, amid doubts about the availability of Ferland Mendy, Vinicius Junior, and Antonio Rüdiger due to injuries. The Spanish newspaper AS reported that the trio are suffering from physical issues and will undergo thorough medical tests in the coming hours to determine the extent of their injuries and the expected length of their absence.

This comes as Real Madrid prepares to lose Rüdiger due to suspension. According to Marca, he faces a severe penalty for his inappropriate protest against the referee in El Clásico, which led to his expulsion from the field during added time. Referee De Burgos sent off three Real Madrid players in the final moments of extra time, all of whom were off the field, for blatantly protesting a refereeing decision: Rüdiger, Lucas Vázquez, and Jude Bellingham.
