Klopp Sets Strict Conditions for Pérez to Take Over at Real Madrid
Following Real Madrid’s painful defeat to arch-rivals Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final, sources close to Jürgen Klopp have revealed the German coach’s stance on taking charge of the team next season. According to these sources, Klopp has informed Florentino Pérez that his strict demands must be met if he is to accept the offer to manage Real Madrid.
Klopp’s Strict Conditions
According to information from the Spanish newspaper Defensa Central, Klopp made it clear to Pérez that he would not accept working with a specific group of players, demanding the immediate departure of five squad members. These players are: Luka Modrić, David Alaba, Antonio Rüdiger, Lucas Vázquez, and Ferland Mendy. The German coach reportedly stated that keeping these players would make the job nearly impossible for any incoming manager, bluntly declaring: “Their time is up, and it’s time to part ways.”
Major Signings in the Upcoming Transfer Window
But Klopp’s surprises didn’t stop there. In addition to demanding the departure of those players, he also insisted on securing four major signings to strengthen the squad in the upcoming summer transfer window. Klopp presented Pérez with a list of names he considers essential, expressing clear preferences for top players in various positions.
For the right-back position, Klopp requested the signing of Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold. For the left-back spot, he pointed to Nuno Mendes of Paris Saint-Germain. In midfield, his choice was Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen, while in attack, he recommended signing Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
Pérez Favors Klopp, But…
Despite the tough conditions, Florentino Pérez reportedly favors appointing Klopp, viewing him as the ideal candidate to lead the team in the coming period. However, if these demands are not fulfilled, the German coach is expected to stand firm and decline the offer to manage Real Madrid without hesitation.
