Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has received shocking news regarding his team’s preparations for the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan.
The two teams are set to meet on Tuesday evening at the San Siro, with the first leg having ended in a 3-3 draw at the Montjuïc Stadium.
According to a report published by the Spanish website Tribuna.com, Catalan left-back Alejandro Balde is likely to miss the match against Inter Milan, as he has yet to participate in full team training.
Balde sustained the injury during Barcelona’s match against Leganés on April 12 in La Liga and has been sidelined ever since.
Two days ago, Balde shared photos documenting his return to individual training, sparking optimism among fans about his possible participation in the San Siro clash — but that now seems unlikely.
Barcelona’s medical staff is currently focused on preparing Balde for the upcoming El Clásico against Real Madrid on May 11.
Balde remains a key component of Flick’s squad, particularly due to his impressive technical and physical attributes.
