Spanish coach Xabi Alonso has started planning his new project as Real Madrid manager, with his appointment imminent, replacing Italian Carlo Ancelotti.
Spanish network Telemadrid reported that Alonso has asked Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez to revamp the attack by signing a striker during the current summer transfer window.

Xabi wants Real Madrid to sign striker Viktor Gjörkeres, the Sporting Lisbon forward who is enjoying an exceptional season, making him worthy of a move to the next level.
The Swede has become one of Europe’s best strikers, but a deal to sign him would cost millions, something Real Madrid is unlikely to be able to afford at the moment, meaning Alonso’s desire may not be fulfilled.

Alonso is aware of this and has put two alternative options on Pérez’s table should the Gjörkeres deal fail: Viktor Okoh Boniface or Patrik Schick. Boniface is under contract with Leverkusen and has a market value of €45 million, but the Czech striker remains the least expensive option at a price that could be as low as €27 million.
