The reports added that among his early technical decisions, Alonso has expressed a preference for Spaniard Fran Garcia over Frenchman Ferland Mendy at left-back, citing Garcia’s attacking capabilities, which align with his intended style of play. The newspaper explained that Mendy is more suited as an additional defensive option, and the latter may leave if a new left-back is signed.
