It appears that Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti’s time at Real Madrid is drawing to a close. Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed that Ancelotti will take charge of the Brazilian national team, paving the way for a new managerial appointment for the upcoming season. In the interim, Santiago Solari, a former member of Real Madrid’s coaching staff, is expected to temporarily assume control until a permanent head coach is named.

However, all indications suggest that Solari will be entrusted with leading Real Madrid in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 18, with the team’s opening match against Al-Hilal. At this point, Solari is the frontrunner to manage the team in this prestigious tournament.

According to reports from the Spanish newspaper Defensa Central, while Solari is not part of the club’s long-term coaching plans, he may use this interim period to recommend key signings to Florentino Pérez, including one standout name: Franco Mastantuono, the young Argentine talent from River Plate.

Mastantuono has captured attention across the football world following his spectacular performances for River Plate, particularly after a sensational goal against Boca Juniors last week that earned him widespread acclaim.

After the match, the young star commented on his future, stating: “I’m committed here at River Plate. I have many things ahead of me, and I want to keep enjoying my time at this club. We’ll see what happens in the future, but right now, my focus is on River.”

Nonetheless, both the player and his camp are fully aware that Real Madrid, along with other elite European clubs, are closely monitoring his development in South America. Club president Florentino Pérez is reportedly impressed with Mastantuono’s potential, and if Solari can persuade him, decisive steps may soon be taken to bring the promising midfielder to the Santiago Bernabéu.
