Joan Laporta, the president who never stops igniting excitement, surprises Barcelona fans with news no less important than winning the treble!

Press reports have revealed the first major decision taken by Barcelona’s management, headed by Joan Laporta, following the club’s dramatic 4-3 victory over Real Madrid in the 35th round of La Liga.

With the win, Barcelona increased their points tally to 82, reclaiming the top spot in the La Liga standings and moving seven points clear of second-placed Real Madrid.

Renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that German coach Hansi Flick has extended his contract with Barcelona. Flick initially joined the club at the start of the current season on a two-year deal running until the summer of 2026. In his debut campaign, the German tactician has already secured the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey, and is now on the verge of clinching the La Liga title.

According to reports, Barcelona’s management was keen to secure Flick’s services for a longer period—and has succeeded. Romano reported that Flick has agreed to all terms of his new contract with the club, which will now run until the summer of 2027.

The journalist added that all aspects of the agreement have been finalized, with the official signing expected to take place later this month. An official announcement regarding the extension of Hansi Flick’s contract is expected to be made soon.
