Hansi Flick only needed a few hours after winning the Spanish league title, along with the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey, to start thinking about next season.
Barcelona is seeking to prepare early for the summer transfer window to determine the fate of those leaving the team and, at the same time, to make the signings Hansi Flick needs.
Christian Falk, a well-known journalist for Sport Bild, reported that Manchester City’s management is planning to sign Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo during the summer transfer window.
Manchester City is currently looking for a replacement for Belgian Kevin De Bruyne, who will leave the team at the end of the season.
Bayer Leverkusen star Wirtz was a strong candidate to move to Manchester City, and the player’s representatives were in England to negotiate with City. However, reports now indicate that the player is close to a move to Bayern Munich.
The journalist indicated that City now wants to sign 27-year-old Olmo as an alternative to Wirtz.
Falk added that Dani Olmo is not a regular starter for Hansi Flick’s team in many matches, so Barça might agree to sell him for a large sum of money.
