As part of its ongoing quest to regain its place among the giants of European football, Barcelona is making ambitious plans to strengthen its squad in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Catalan club, which has long been a symbol of domestic and international success, aims to make a strong return to the European stage after a period of absence from winning the Champions League.

In light of this, Spanish goalkeeper Juan Garcia, who plays for Espanyol, is close to joining Barcelona during the current summer transfer window.
According to the Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona has finalized an agreement with Juan Garcia to join the team starting next season, in order to strengthen the goalkeeping position at the request of German coach Hansi Flick.

The newspaper confirmed that the Catalan club will activate the release clause in Juan Garcia’s contract, estimated at approximately €25 million, as the Spanish goalkeeper’s deal with Espanyol runs until June 2028.
It is expected that the 24-year-old goalkeeper will sign a five-year contract with Barcelona.

In recent days, several English clubs — led by Manchester City — have shown strong interest, but Garcia’s desire to join the Catalan giants has settled the matter.
The 24-year-old had an impressive season with Espanyol, playing 38 matches in all competitions and keeping eight clean sheets.

Barcelona is looking to strengthen its goalkeeping position during the current summer transfer window in order to remain competitive for all domestic and continental titles.
