As part of its ongoing quest to regain its place among the giants of European football, Barcelona is making ambitious plans to strengthen its squad during the upcoming summer transfer window. The Catalan club, long a symbol of domestic and international success, aims to make a strong return to the European stage, especially after a period without winning the Champions League.

In this context, Spanish star Pedri confirmed the signing of young goalkeeper Juan Garcia. Garcia delivered exceptional performances last season with Espanyol in La Liga, attracting the attention of the Catalan club.

Football España quoted Pedri saying:
“Juan Garcia is joining the best club in the world, and I wish him all the best in this new stage.”

He added:
“Garcia has a lot of skills, but he is not yet an official player in our team, so I cannot say much about him.”

Pedri continued:
“If he gets the opportunity to join Barcelona, I will tell him it is the best team in the world.”

Barcelona is counting on Garcia to be the young goalkeeper in the club’s new project, especially given the advancing age of both Marc-André ter Stegen and Wacchini.

Juan Garcia is 24 years old, and his contract with Espanyol runs until June 2028. He was promoted to the first team in 2021.
Garcia has made 67 appearances for Espanyol’s first team, conceding 72 goals and keeping 21 clean sheets.
