Real Madrid is preparing to pay €45 million for Franco Mastrantuono, with the amount to be paid in installments. This signing represents a significant boost to an already strong squad, although the possibility of the player leaving in the future is not ruled out. While the club does not currently expect this to happen, there is an internal understanding that the situation could change in the coming weeks or months.
In the same context, Real Madrid is considering the potential sale of Miguel Gutiérrez and Taki Kubo, two players in whom the club holds a 50% stake. If Girona activates Miguel Gutiérrez’s €35 million release clause, Real Madrid would receive approximately €12 million. Similarly, if Japan’s Taki Kubo is sold for his €60 million release clause, the club would gain around €30 million.
These two potential deals represent significant financial returns for Real Madrid, but no final decision has been made yet. The club does not plan to sign Mastrantuono solely based on the income from these sales. However, such scenarios remain plausible during the summer transfer window, especially as both players seek moves to more competitive clubs to advance their careers.
Despite these ambitions, the likelihood of Real Madrid recalling either player remains slim. The club’s management has other plans for squad reinforcement and is focused on generating financial returns from player sales rather than reintegrating them into the first team. Miguel Gutiérrez has expressed his desire to return to Real Madrid, and both he and his agent have made concerted efforts in recent months to convince the club to reinvest in him.
However, the club has shown no interest, especially given the presence of other left-backs who are prioritized over him. Therefore, Gutiérrez will need to explore alternative options in the transfer market, particularly following a disappointing season with Girona, which performed poorly last year.
